Some collections start with a design idea.
This one started with love.
At D.A.T., every piece we create carries a story. But there's a story we haven't told yet, one that's been quietly shaping the next chapter of who we are.
Someone close to our D.A.T. family has been living with dementia. Anyone who has walked alongside a loved one through this journey knows it changes how you see memory itself: how precious it is, how much it deserves to be honored, and how much it hurts to watch it slip away.
Out of that experience, and out of love, something began to take shape.

Not a Business Decision, A Tribute
We want to be clear about something from the start: this isn't a marketing strategy. It isn't about profit for D.A.T.
This is about honoring artwork created by someone living with dementia and Alzheimer's disease, art that deserves to be seen, celebrated, and carried forward. We have two paintings, warm and full of life, the kind of colors that feel like sunlight and open fields. Each one is becoming two scarves: a lightweight, sheer scarf for summer, and a thick, woven scarf for winter, four pieces in total. What these scarves earn is meant for our own D.A.T. family member, not for D.A.T. as a company. But we also believe this can do more than that, so we're exploring ways it could give back down the road.
We chose scarves for a few reasons. Practically, they let us move quickly and offer something different from what we usually make. But the real reason is simpler: our loved one has always loved wrapping up in a good scarf or sweater. It felt right to turn their art into something you wear close, the same way they always do.
This is D.A.T. doing what we said we'd do from the beginning: Dare to Amplify stories that matter, caring for the people and stories closest to us, especially the ones that don't often get told.
Still Being Written
Some parts of this story are still taking shape, and we want to do it justice. What we can tell you now is this: the scarves are being made, drawn from artwork that already exists, made by someone we love.
Because some things are bigger than fashion. Sometimes, what you carry is someone else's memory, carried forward, with love.
More to come.
